A Platform to Arouse Patriotism: Abalashrama creates a platform to instill patriotism among its residents through celebrations on significant national days.
On days like 26th January (Republic Day), 15th August (Independence Day), and 1st November (Kannada Rajyotsava), special functions are organized that focus on patriotism and national pride.
During these celebrations, the residents sing patriotic songs and perform plays based on National Heroes. Most of the time, the residents write the script, direct, and enact the play, fostering creativity and a deeper connection to the nation's history.
On 1st November (Kannada Rajyotsava), the celebration takes place in a unique way. A pushcart loaded with Kannada books is taken around Gandhi Bazar, selling books and promoting the Kannada language.
The “Sign in Kannada” campaign, which started in recent years, has become hugely popular in the area, encouraging people to use Kannada in public signage and communications, and further promoting the state's cultural heritage.
